The problem was discovered when the company notified FSIS that product sampling reported positive Listeria monocytogenes results. Īlexander & Hornung initially recalled 234,391 because of possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. A wide variety of products under many brands are implicated. Last week, the FSIS expanded the recall to more than 2 million pounds, with an expanded list of fully cooked ham and pepperoni products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Some of the stores the FSIS believes received the recalled products: 20 include: Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Vermont, Wisconsin and West Virginia. This list may not include all retail locations that have received the recalled products and may include retail locations that did not actually receive the recalled products, according to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. Testing showed contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has released a list of more than 500 retail locations believed to have received fully cooked ham and pepperoni products that have been recalled by Alexander & Hornung, which is a business unit of Perdue Premium Meat Company Inc.
